Madrid, a meeting and business tourism destination

April 19, 2023

Geographical location

Located in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula, Madrid is the capital of Spain and is well connected domestically and internationally by land and air. It has 3 airports: Torrejón Airport, Cuatro Vientos Airport and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The latter is the fifth largest in Europe and the 24th largest in the world by number of passengers. This accessibility and its pleasant climate make Madrid one of the favourite business tourism destinations.

Infrastructure

Madrid has multiple conference centres, offices, meeting and corporate event venues, convention centres and much more. Some of the most well-known are the Madrid Conference Centre (20 minutes away from our apartments), IFEMA Madrid (25 minutes away) or the Gran Teatro CaixaBank Principe Pío (a 15-minute walk). The city has several options to cater for all types of events, all fully equipped with the latest technology.

Events

The Spanish capital is also perfect for networking, as there are frequent events for entrepreneurs, training courses, talks, workshops and masterclasses that are free to attend. Coworking, or working in shared spaces, is also an excellent way to meet other people in your field, and Madrid has many such spaces, making it a popular destination for digital nomads.

Culture and gastronomy

Because it’s not all about work, Madrid is also one of the favourite destinations for business people due to its extensive culture, history and gastronomy, which is renowned worldwide. From outdoor activities to museums, restaurants, parks and outdoor cafés, there is a wide range of leisure activities on offer.
