Fancy trying the iconic Madrid calamari roll? Well, look no further; El Brillante is the place to be. Located in the Plaza del Emperador Carlos V, 20 minutes from our apartments, this bar serves sandwiches, classic churros and porras, and beer. This establishment is almost a century old; a place where Bill and Hillary Clinton enjoyed a sandwich during their visit to Madrid in 1997.

Bodega La Ardosa

This tavern is one of the most popular in Madrid. It has a traditional atmosphere and has retained the same style as when it opened in 1891. You can’t miss their exquisite potato and onion omelette, homemade croquettes or the vermouth on tap. It will only take 8 minutes to walk there from Gran View Apartments.

Taberna de Ángel Sierra

One bar, two different spaces: on one side, a bar that is ideal for vermouth and tapas, and on the other, a large room with old wine bottles.

Casa Labra

Just a 5-minute walk from our accommodation, you will find this century-old tavern serving Castilian cuisine; a place frequented by locals for generations that is sure to impress. It has an extensive menu of fish and meat dishes, as well as a carefully selected wine list.

Taberna Antonio Sánchez

We couldn’t leave out the oldest bar in Madrid: Taberna Antonio Sánchez. Dating back to 1787, it is one of the city’s historic jewels. Enjoy excellent traditional food surrounded by its spectacular classic décor that will take you back to the 1800s. The best thing?
