Madrid's most charming parks

February 16, 2022

El Retiro Park

Yes, we know it's no secret, but this park gets all the credit it deserves. El Retiro Park (Parque del Buen Retiro) covers 125 hectares and has more than 15,000 trees. The Park is located in the heart of the city and is probably one of the most famous places in Madrid. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In short, it is the perfect place to go for a walk, do some sport, go boating, meet friends, have a drink in its cafés or even enjoy art exhibitions. Furthermore, it is only a 20-minute walk from our apartments.

Madrid Rio Park and Casa de Campo

Situated on the banks of the Manzanares River, the Madrid Río Park is as modern as it is captivating. This park boasts a variety of landscaped areas, sports facilities, outdoor cafés, fountains, viewpoints, bridges and even an urban beach. The 7-kilometre paved path is perfect for jogging, walking, rollerblading or cycling, and you can also find historical monuments throughout the park. In addition, close by is La Casa de Campo, the largest park in Spain, where you can visit the stunning lake and go hiking, as we explain in this post. You can get there easily from our apartments in 20 minutes by bus.

El Capricho Park (Jardín El Capricho de la Alameda de Osuna)

There is a beautiful, almost secluded park in the district of Barajas, and although it is not very well known, it is well worth a visit. In addition to being able to see a genuine Civil War bunker, these gardens in Madrid are perfect for a romantic stroll with your partner or a day out with the family. On the other hand, an interesting feature is that there are four different environments where you will find buildings from four different historical periods. Don't miss out on this amazing and peaceful corner of Madrid, a 25-minute drive from Gran View Apartments.

West Park (Parque del Oeste)

The popular Parque del Oeste is just over a 20-minute walk from our apartments. Fancy reading a book in the shade of the trees or strolling in the sun while admiring an amazing rose garden covering more than 30,000 square metres? Then, don't miss this immense and fascinating park. It is a privilege to spend the day in this park that covers an area of almost 100 hectares.

Campo del Moro Gardens

Finally, we recommend exploring the beautiful gardens of Campo del Moro, situated next to the Royal Palace. You'll feel like 19th century royalty as you stroll through the park, admiring the peacocks, breathtaking walkways, monumental fountains, and lush greenery. Enjoy this historic-artistic monument located just 20 minutes from the Gran Vía.

Another way to unwind and relax as you deserve is to enjoy the facilities at our apartments. Gran View Apartments offers fully equipped accommodation, a gym, sauna, pool and rooftop bar. Have you already booked? We look forward to seeing you!
