Enjoy the best theatrical performances in Madrid

November 11, 2021

There is no denying that Madrid is a vibrant cultural city. Art is present in different forms: painting, architecture, music, poetry... and its history is linked to many artists. Let's focus on theatre today, and we will discuss which plays are not to be missed during your visit to the capital.

The Lion King musical

A classic in Madrid! It has been running since 2011 at the Lope de Vega Theatre, just a 3-minute walk from our apartments. After an 18-month hiatus due to the pandemic, it has just returned to the stage stronger than ever. It is a show that has already been seen by more than 100 million people worldwide and has received several awards. If you haven't seen it yet, don't put it off any longer and book your ticket in advance. It is the ideal musical for the whole family, as it will surprise children and adults alike.

The Exact Measure of the Universe

On 3 November, the Lara Theatre premières this existentialist, emotional play with a story as simple as it is complex, which, through its plot, raises the question: Are you the person you dreamed of being when you were young? Highly recommended for nostalgic people who come to the theatre in search of food for thought, besides simply having a good time. You will be able to enjoy it until 5 January 2022, and don't forget that Gran View Apartments is quite close to this theatre, less than 5 minutes away!

Another Midsummer Night's Dream

Make a Shakespeare classic into a musical comedy? It can be done! From 13 October to 21 November, the Lara Theatre is staging this highly original play that is sure to leave no one unmoved. Perfect for adults looking to unwind and enjoy a challenging play full of surprises.

Circlassica: Miliki’s Dream

The story of Miliki, the clown, is as nostalgic as it is moving. Young and old alike will enjoy this play full of fantasy accompanied by classic characters from everyone's childhood. An ideal way to spend time with children in Madrid. Open from 19 November to 16 January at IFEMA Madrid. You can get there in just over half an hour from our apartments by taking the underground.

The Nutcracker

There is nothing like enjoying a good ballet performance and, of course, the most popular one at Christmas time is this work by Tchaikovsky. If you are in the mood to be amazed by classical ballet, you can enjoy The Nutcracker by the renowned Russian National Ballet at the Lope de Vega Theatre from 8 December 2021 to 8 January 2022. It could be an ideal choice for a romantic date, don't you think?

And remember that our apartments are located in the heart of Madrid, so it will be easy for you to find your way back after a thrilling evening at the theatre.
